This course aims to explore the intersection of myofunctional therapy and speech therapy, highlighting the synergies between these two disciplines and their potential to enhance treatment outcomes. Participants will gain insight into identifying myofunctional disorders, understanding the role of orofacial muscles in speech production, and recognizing the impact of myofunctional disorders on speech and language development. Additionally, they will learn specific myofunctional therapy techniques to improve oral strength and coordination, thus increasing traditional speech therapy success. We will focus primarily on producing/r/, /l/ and /s/ sounds. Through case studies, attendees will acquire practical strategies for integrating myofunctional therapy techniques into speech therapy interventions, fostering a more holistic approach to assessment and treatment.
