Amy has a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She is a registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). Amy is also Hanen certified in It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words and has been trained in many other therapy approaches including Lidcombe (stuttering treatment), Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol (KSLP) and Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson’s Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Level 3. Amy’s OPT training allows her to provide advanced assessment and program planning for children experiencing muscle-based speech and/or feeding challenges. Having worked for the Ministry of Children and Youth Services in a children’s treatment center, Amy has a strong knowledge of the public preschool speech-language system and a passion for family-centered care. Over the years, Amy has worked with children who have a variety of communication difficulties including literacy, articulation, oral placement, expressive and/or receptive language disorders/delay, stuttering. She has also worked with children and young adults who have Autism, Selective Mutism and Down Sydrome.
