Kenia obtained a master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Ana G. Mendez University in Puerto Rico. She holds an SLP license from the Puerto Rico Health Department, a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American-Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), a Sensory Integration license from the University of Southern California, and a license from NOMAS® (Neonatal Oral Motor Assessment Scale). Kenia is a Level 4 Specialist from Talk Tools®, and a Level 2 Specialist from PROMPT©. She is also trained on SOS© Approach to Feeding and on Beckman Oral Motor©. She has 11 years of experience working with the pediatric population, mainly with infants and kids diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Her main specialization is on the evaluation, diagnostic, and treatment of oral sensory-motor, feeding, and swallowing disorders. During her professional career, she worked as a professor for the speech therapist undergraduate program and as a clinical supervisor for the SLP graduate program at Ana G. Mendez University. She offers continuous education workshops and seminars to health professionals mainly focused on the orofacial area and feeding skills development.
