Chatterton, Sarah

Sarah have worked as a specialist speech and language therapist (SLT) since qualifying from the University of Newcastle in 1988. After 20 years within the NHS I now work solely as an independent SLT with children, teenagers and adults. Her predominant experience is working with people with traumatic and acquired brain injury and people with learning disabilities.

She provide assessment, therapy and advice to clients and their families on a 1:1 basis, both face to face and remotely via video link such as Zoom or Facetime. She use Goal Attainment Scales (GAS) as a framework for functional and effective goal setting and a means of outcome measures.

She work closely and collaboratively with other members of the multi- disciplinary team to develop integrated rehabilitation programmes. The team may include education staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, support workers, case managers and solicitors. She deliver training on request and provide assessments and expert witness reports as part of the medico-legal process.
