Examine typical infant hunger cues and take action on breastfeeding and bottlings! Vanessa Anderson-Smith will discuss the mechanics of breastfeeding and bottle feeding as well as how and when to intervene. Participants will leave the course being able to identify 5 hunger cues, understand the mechanics or breast and bottle feeding, and describe more than 5 different therapeutic techniques for infant feeding difficulties.
The participants will be able to:
- Identify 5 different hunger cues
- Formulate an understanding of the mechanics of breast and bottle feeding
- Describe at least 5 different therapeutic techniques for infant feeding difficulty.
- 15 minutes: Overview
- 15 minutes: Cues of infant hunger
- 30 minutes: Breastfeeding and bottling mechanics
- 30 minutes: Assessment and intervention strategies
- 20 minutes: Case Study & Conclusion
