Examine typical infant hunger cues and take action on breastfeeding and bottlings! Vanessa Anderson-Smith will discuss the mechanics of breastfeeding and bottle feeding as well as how and when to intervene. Participants will leave the course being able to identify 5 hunger cues, understand the mechanics or breast and bottle feeding, and describe more than 5 different therapeutic techniques for infant feeding difficulties.

The participants will be able to:

  1. Identify 5 different hunger cues
  2. Formulate an understanding of the mechanics of breast and bottle feeding
  3. Describe at least 5 different therapeutic techniques for infant feeding difficulty.
  • 15 minutes: Overview
  • 15 minutes: Cues of infant hunger
  • 30 minutes: Breastfeeding and bottling mechanics
  • 30 minutes: Assessment and intervention strategies
  • 20 minutes: Case Study & Conclusion
