Who?
Advanced Therapy of America (ATA) is a team of experienced Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists who have designed a specialized treatment approach called OccuSpeech®. This program was created for children who are unable to respond to traditional speech therapy environments requiring them to sit at a table and participate in therapeutic activities. OccuSpeech® is an interdisciplinary approach combining interventions for sensory integration and speech therapy simultaneously. The therapists work together to provide a sensory-rich experience with a goal of helping every child to succeed despite challenges in behavior, attention, and regulation.
Maria D. McNish, M.S. CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist with 17 years of experience. She holds an Undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from William Paterson University. Maria presents at the local, national and international levels. Maria is the founder and director of Advanced Therapy of America. She oversees 3 clinics and dedicates her life toward making a difference in the lives of the children and adults she treats.
Sonya Kashlan, OTR/L is an Occupational Therapist at Advanced Therapy of America. She is one of New Jersey and New York’s leading occupational therapists with acute knowledge and skills sets in treating people in need. She is a Columbia University educated occupational therapist with over 13 years of experience treating and working with children and adults. Sonya is a New York native, a mother of three, a world traveler, and has dedicated her life to working with people.
The ATA team is excited to share their passion for TalkTools® therapy while giving the audience a unique perspective on helping children with sensory-motor challenges to embrace the benefits of TalkTools® intervention.
