Teletherapy Tips and Tricks

We have put together an abundance of resources for both parents and therapists to use during these hectic times. Many practices have switched to teletherapy to continue their therapy practices. We want to make this transition as seamless as possible, and we are here to help.

Recommendations for Therapists:

· Have the parent/family send short video clips (30 seconds to 1 minute) of feeding, eating, drinking, and interaction ahead of the online meeting

· If desired and appropriate have the parent/family send face forward and profile photos of the child or adult

· Ask the parent/family to send the therapist a Zoom invitation for the agreed Zoom time. This is HIPAA compliant, and the parent/family can video the session for reference purposes

· I send out attached paperwork ahead of the meeting and sometimes other checklists if needed

· I have the tools and materials available for demonstration during the Zoom meeting

· I send the parent/family a written follow-up
